So glad I did as I would not have served it if I waited to make it the day of. I followed the recipe exactly as written and had to cook it for 75 minutes. It was cooked but did not have much structure. I like nice chunks of bread in mine. The white bread seemed to disappear and it was just cornbread mush. Does this really need 7 cups of stock???

You ocan make it self rising cornmeal by adding 1-1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt to 1 cup cornmeal!

My go-to stuffing for Thanksgiving Day has been your Southern Cornbread Stuffing and I have been making it for about 15 years now. It’s always highly requested and loved by all. The only changes I have made over the years is to add chopped up cooked gizzards and chopped hard boiled eggs to just add a little “Sumpthin” from other dressings I have had at other family get together that I enjoyed. Other than that, this is a Family Tradition for me and my family for Holidays and I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for all the Love, entertainment, advice, and sharing you have always given to your viewers. I feel like you’re a much loved Auntie and wish you and your family blessings and love always.

I am now in charge of dressing since all have passed. It is the best-tasting dressing and a staple in our household during the Holidays.

Yes you can make this a day ahead of time. You can pull out of the oven to come to room temperature and cook as directed. If it isn't set yet, you can leave in for an extra 20-30 minutes.
