Many doctors as well as microbiologist are NOW discovering that butter is actually MUCH more natural and safe than the margerine/substitutes we are now finding being made so readily available to us? Were any of your parents/ maternal or paternal diabetic? You would also need to include your grandmothers and grandfathers on each side as well. Just “hoping” you can still have your cake and eat it too, I suppose, or perhaps we’ll see a “new” book in the future, not with “lighter side reciepes” but maybe one where there was actually a “family” history to which this very treatable illness could possibly be linked! My parents and grandparents lived until well into their 80s and in fact some 90s and ate pure hog lard as well as butter, homemade breads, and pork sausage at least twice a day, and none were EVER diabetic, and yep. . . you know what else, they were a bit on the pleasingly plump side, as far as weight too! Sure do miss the good ole days with Paula, and we are really “praying” for a more original return of her soon! Be Blessed and remember the older we get the older we look, to the point of “sickly”, when we lose weight, and Paula P L E A S E never resort to ALL the gimicks of the PLASTIC SURGERY. . . think about their LAST NAMES! SURGEON, Yuck. . . very un natural, and look at ALL the celebs., like Michael Jackson, Priscilla Presley, and even Joan Rivers. . . horrible, and I’m sure they “paid” for the Best ones Available. Love and BEST dishes and GOOD SOUTHERN WISHES! Kay 🙂

Much like your own sons, I too love to ccok. Mom always said that when the other kids were outside playing, I wanted to be with her in the kitchen to help mama cook. She would put my little rear on the counter and let me stir! I am a hairstylist and salon owner of 33 years by trade, but my soul is in food…I catered out of my kitchen, (which is a one person kitchen) many special events for hundreds and small weddings of 100 or so in our backyard. People are truly amazed at the delicious food that comes out of that small space. Keep on a cookin with your sons, because there is no recipe for mom and son lovin in the kitchen. From my small kitchen to your very adequate cooking space…love and good dishes.
A friend and fan always,
butch

I made that mistake and I won’t make the same mistake again….I also suggest using walnuts instead of almonds and to add some grapes. YUM!Other than that the recipe is AWESOME!

My friend sent me an email that said.” Southerners call pecans pee-cans. The only pee-can I know about is one you carry in the car on a trip.” She lives in Maine so we will forgive her if she doesn’t know how to speak “Southern English”. Thought this would bring a smile to you all.

Delle

P.S. Love your shows. Will try the chicken salad.
