The recipe does state SMALL size balls , which do cook up nicely in 8 or 9 minutes in my hot run oven. In my cooler running oven I cook 10 to 13 minutes . Merry Christmas best cookies

I made these for a Christmas party, so I doubled this recipe. It was my first time making these so I made sure the proportions were right. However, the dough looked oddly dry like biscuit dough, so I added more maraschino juice. This recipe needs to specify how big the cookie balls need to be made, because mine (1″ wide) did take about 13 minutes for the bottoms to brown. The cookies were soft and they puffed up really nicely. I tasted one, and they lacked sweetness, which I guess what the frosting is for. So, if you want sweet cookies good on their own, add 1 1/2 cups instead of 1. I had to overfrost mine just so they tasted like a dessert.
Overall, not bad. But this recipe definitely needs improved.

Also doesn’t say if you should cool on the tray or how long, etc. This recipe needs some additional information!

The cookies taste good, I’ve made them two years in a row but I have to adjust cooking time and watch them.
