2024 has been another busy, busy year for Paula! Along with visits to her restaurants to host book signings and spend time with her friends and a trip to Key West with Michael, she hosted Aunt Peggy in her home for an extended stay, allowing her to spend extra quality time with her dear aunt. In addition, the year included a trip to celebrate Jack’s 18th birthday, the first anniversary celebration of The Chicken Box, and a dinner with Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud and Christmas tree lighting with Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, both in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  Last but not least, Paula reinvigorated her nonprofit, Paula Deen’s The Bag Lady Foundation. She recruited a whole new board and really ramped up her fundraising efforts, including a fabulous two-night event in Savannah, where she raised over $50,000 to aid in The Bag Lady Foundation’s mission to support women and children in need!

With the year winding down, we’re once again recapping our year in food—namely the recipes you loved most through the year! So as we bid farewell to 2024 and usher in 2025, let’s revisit the 10 most popular recipes of 2024 on PaulaDeen.com.

Are we crazy, or did 2022 actually feel normal? Or is it just our new normal? It’s hard to tell, but Paula was back in full force visiting restaurants and hosting book signings. Some highlights of the year included celebrating Paula’s 75th birthday; her trip to Pigeon Forge, TN, with the entire family for Thanksgiving dinner at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen and a tree lighting at Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Feud; and continuing to really settle into her new house. While she and Michael moved in in 2021, 2022 was when they really were able to make it a home. And of course, as promised, Paula has kept up with her Love & Best Dishes videos on her YouTube channel, including bringing back her 12 Days of Christmas Cookies, which, after skipping it last year in lieu of a variety of holiday favorites, was resurrected after a loud outcry from her online friends.

So to cap off another wonderful year, we’re continuing on with our end-of-year tradition in sharing the 10 most popular recipes of 2022 on PaulaDeen.com. It’s the perfect time of year to reflect on those most-loved recipes of the year, don’t you think?

She also kept her promise to continue her Quarantine Cooking videos, rebranded as Love & Best Dishes. And she also brought back her Holiday Cooking & Baking Recipes with Paula Deen series on her YouTube channel for another holiday season.

Is it just us or does date night seem a little more elusive than usual these days? Many of us are opting to stay home rather than venture out to restaurants, movie theaters, and the like. That said, spending quality time with our sweetie is still incredibly important, and on these chilly autumn evenings, what better place is there to be than in the arms of the person we love most?

Instead of grabbing your plate and eating dinner in front of the television again, why not dine in with intention? Make a meal that feels a little more special than your regular fare. Opt for a nicer cut of meat, add another course, and finish things off with a tasty treat that’s as sweet as your special someone.

When dinner is over, you can plan a fun at-home activity (think games, wine-tastings, a craft, etc) or even watch a movie (splurge for a new release you’ve both been wanting to watch instead of mindlessly binging your everyday TV crime drama).

If you’re at a loss for what to prepare, we’ve got you covered. We’ve got a whole menu planned out that’s perfect for a fall date night at home. Enjoy, friends!

Appetizer: Sun-Dried Tomato and Arugula Bruschetta

Salad: Roasted Beet Salad with Cocoa Vinaigrette

Entrée: Perfect Char-Grilled Filet Mignon

Side Dishes: Creamed Spinach & Deluxe Twice-Baked Potatoes with Shrimp

Dessert: Chocolate Bread Pudding with Rum Toffee Sauce

Warm, gooey, and perfectly sweet—Paula’s peach cobbler is the trifecta! Peach cobbler, being a Southern institution, is a staple on the dessert menu at all of Paula’s restaurants. People from all over the world rave about Paula’s rendition of this Southern sweet, and since August is National Peach Month, we thought now is the perfect time to share how to make this peachy keen recipe.

Start by gathering your ingredients. You’ll need the following:

  • 1 ½ cups self-rising flour
  • 1 stick butter
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced peaches
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • ground cinnamon (optional)

Now that you’ve got your ingredients prepped and ready, it’s time to get cookin’!

First, preheat your oven to 350˚F. While you wait for your oven to heat up, combine the peeled and sliced peaches with the water and a cup of the sugar in a saucepan, making sure to mix it up well. Bring the peach and soon-to-be syrup to a boil and then it simmer for 10 minutes; then, remove the pan from the heat. If you don’t have fresh peaches, you can use this same process with frozen peaches or skip this part and use canned peaches—just be sure not to dump out the syrup from those canned peaches!

Next, you’ll want to put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and toss the dish in the oven so the butter can melt.

In a separate bowl, mix the remaining cup of sugar with the self-rising flour and the milk slowly to prevent it from clumping. Once your butter is melted, remove the baking dish from the oven, and pour the flour mixture over the melted butter. Now this part is incredibly important: do not stir the flour mixture into the butter.

Next spoon the fruit on top of it all and then gently pour in the syrup—again, don’t stir. How much syrup you use is up to you. Obviously the more syrup you pour in, the wetter and gooier your finished cobbler will be. Paula likes lots of syrup in her cobbler! Finally, if you’re choosing to use it, sprinkle the top with ground cinnamon. Paula’s sprinkle tends to be more on the heavy side, but you can decide how much or how little cinnamon you and your family like.

Lastly, bake it in your oven for 30 to 45 minutes—the batter will rise to the top during baking.

Boy, are you in for a treat! This cobbler is so good any way you serve it, but we like it topped with fresh whipped cream or, our personal favorite, vanilla ice cream.

How many of you have had Paula’s cobbler before? Have you tried making it yourself? Let us know what you think of it in the comments below.
