Best strawberry shortcake/trifle recipe. When I go to a party and ask what I should bring the answer is Paula Deen’s strawberry shortcake! I mix equal parts of orange juice and sherry and sprinkle over the cake for an added flavor.

I’ve made this recipe many times for potlucks and usually have to make an extra one for us to have at home, because there’s never any leftovers. It’s so easy to prepare, but tastes like you fussed. I get many compliments and have to credit the great Paula Deen, of course!

I just saw you make this on Paula’s Home Cooking. I looked so good i had to look up the instructions to make it for my family. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful recipes. I make your gooey butter cakes all the time and pretty sure this one will be a hit as well.

Delicious and simple. Used yellow cake mix, doubled glaze . It was a big hit for my husbands birthday.

I LOVE this recipe! It was the perfect recipe for my family gathering.
I recommend it to everyone that asks for a recipe suggestion. Thanks Paula for this.

One thing I added to the recipe was crushed graham crackers as a layer between the custard and glaze. It was yummy!!!

Our favorite dessert recipe! Always the hit of the party! Our preference is to bake a yellow cake and use that instead of the angel food, but it is fantastic either way. Yum!
