Absolutely! First, you’ll cut your butter into 1 tablespoon sized pieces. Then, you’ll add the butter and the flour to the food processor. Cutting in butter is done by pulsing the flour and butter until you have the crumb like mixture that your recipe calls for.

In her video she is doubling the recipe using 4 cups flour. Many people have commented that it only made 10 biscuits. I am guessing that is why. I am kind on intrigued with the usong of the tablecloth because I have used a dishtowel before however a tablecloth would be larger and more stable and I bake a lot of bread. I am thinking I will try this. I know I have a few old tablecloths I could use.

I find it easier to cut my butter into very small pieces to make it easier to incorporate into the dough. I also just gently pat the dough down on the counter to the thickness I like, rather than using a rolling pin. Less handling the better. I use a 3″ cutter which yields 6 large ones, being careful not to overbake. Lastly, I bake them in my cast iron skillet which I feel gives them a slight crisp on the outside. Yummy!

I only got 9 biscuits out of it. I have no idea how you can get 3 dozen.

Gluten-free flours usually require cooking a bit longer but if you just watch them it’ll work out fine. The texture is SLIGHTLY different, but not enough that they are not recognizable as biscuits.

Not sure why I thought making biscuits was difficult. I made my biscuits regular biscuit size and could only get 10 biscuits out of this recipe. I used all plant-based ingredients, and they taste great, look beautiful, and are now vegan friendly!
